[Question]yahoo chat room

Does there anyone know how the yahoo chat room (using messenger) get to work?

Originally I used yahoo messenger to chat with friends online on XP platform. However, I often use Debian as my working platform. Thus, I decided to switch to giam. Yet it is pity that it doesn't support voice function in chatroom. Then I found out a software, i.e. - "Gyach Enhanced / pY! Voice Chat", which can use MIC in chatroom, but it contains some bugs preventing me from using it smoothly (such as logging to local chatroom by countries), though that may not happen in chatrooms in another countries, notably western language. So I go down to read source code to see weather I can fix it or not. Fortunately, few targets had been detected that I suppose I can fix it. Yet after trying to compiling from source, I found out, due to the makefile addictive to some specific environment, it is difficult to even compile it. Further, I am not familiar with phyton, lots of error reports can not be elliminated, even though those errors have been reported back to the forum of Gyach. Accordingly, I plan to write a software or plugin of gaim (and licences it with GPL or open source compatible) that at least be able to use yahoo chatroom with voice function enabled . It is pity that I do not know how yahoo voice function works. Therefore, if anyone who knows where there is resource talking about this or any piceses of code targeting to this, hope you are able to let me know.

I appreciate it, sincerely.

Try gaim-vv (But remember, it is a work in progress.)

For voice and WebCam support for yahoo messenger you can try gyach :
1. Download http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/te...nstall.tar.bz2 , and save it to your home directory (important!).

2. Run these commands in the terminal, in sequential order:
Code:

tar -xjf gyach-install.tar.bz2
cd gyach
sudo ./install

gaim-vv is another choice
